Struan began as a fashion photographer in Toronto. In the early 1980’s he opened another studio in Chicago to better serve his American clients. At the same time Struan began directing television commercials for Schultz Productions and Avion Films in Toronto.

Struan has numerous awards to his credit including Clios and National Hasselblad awards. He is the first and only fashion photographer to be placed in the permanent collection of The National Archives of Canada. His roster of celebrities runs from John Candy and Wayne Gretzky to Nelson Mandela and Karen Kain, and his client list includes Rolex, American Express, AT&T, Motorola, Pepsi and many more of the world’s top companies.
